Training never stops at Hambden Fire Department!

This morning, Probationary Firefighters Leah Bass and Owen Bass took part in pump operations training on Engine 3623 and Tanker 3638. Mastering pump operations is a vital skill for firefighters, ensuring that water is efficiently delivered to fire scenes when every second counts.

Under the guidance of experienced personnel, Leah and Owen worked on establishing water supply, operating pump controls, and managing water flow, preparing them for real-world fireground operations. This hands-on training is part of their probationary period, where they gain the knowledge and skills necessary to serve the Hambden community effectively.

At Hambden Fire Department, continuous training ensures our firefighters are always ready to respond. We’re proud of our newest members for their dedication and commitment to learning!
