Citizen’s Fire Academy

The Hambden Fire Department proudly offers the Citizen’s Fire Academy — a unique opportunity for residents of Hambden Township and surrounding communities to experience the skills, training, and dedication it takes to keep our community safe.

This fun and engaging program is designed to give participants a behind-the-scenes, hands-on look at how we operate. You won’t just watch — you’ll do.

Throughout the course, participants explore a wide range of fire and EMS topics, including:

• How 911 calls are dispatched and coordinated
• Fire suppression techniques and hands-on use of real equipment
• CPR and Stop the Bleed certification
• Rescue scenarios, including vehicle extrication and medical helicopters
• Fire behavior, arson investigation, and firefighter safety
